What next

The masterplan is only the beginning of the transformation of Canvey Island Town Centre. The overarching vision and broad plan has been created through the masterplan but further investigations and detailed design are required to bring the plan to life. The next steps are described below and there will be plenty of opportunities for you to continue to be involved

Design work to improve the streets, spaces and shop fronts in Furtherwick Road

Further studies and traffic surveys to investigate highways options

Development briefs with more detailed proposals for key areas and sites

Partnership working between the Council and the private sector to evolve a scheme for the Retail Core
